Matthew R. Fluegel

Not only is Matt Fluegel a native of Morris, he is also a fifth-generation Stevens County resident. After graduating as the salutatorian of the Class of 1997 from Morris Area High School, he attended college at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. He graduated cum laude, earning a degree in Political Science and minoring in Legal Studies and Russian. He then attended the University of Minnesota Law School, earning his law degree in 2004. Matt knew early on in law school that he did not wish to remain in the Twin Cities area, and returned home to Morris each summer to work as a law clerk at the current firm, later moving back for good after being admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 2004.

Matt has found his niche practicing in estate planning, real estate transactions, and probate law. With a vested interest in the continued growth and prosperity of the area, he participated in the Blandin Leadership Program in 2004. He is also an active member of the Kiwanis, PlayRights Community Theatre, and Habitat for Humanity and is the president of the Morris Community Industrial Development Corporation.

Matt’s wife, Molly (originally from Appleton, MN), is a paralegal. They were married in the summer of 2007 and their family includes their son, Cooper, daughter, Anastasia, and their dog, Cubby. In addition to their work in the law firm, Matt and Molly stay busy managing their rental property and attempting to stay connected with the outside world while raising two young children! Matt enjoys home improvement projects, hunting, golfing, reading and spending time with family and friends.
